IWA protect the deposit from the moment it’s paid and the Deposit Protection certificate is issued. (Please note: cover is only in place once the contractor has registered the contract with IWA, the premium has been paid and a policy has been issued)

Let’s say a consumer pays a deposit to secure home improvement work, then the worst happens – The contractor ceases trading before starting the work. The good news is you are in safe hands – IWA will either protect that deposit and arrange the completion of the contract or will refund it (subject to the T&Cs of the policy issued).
(All protection is subject to receiving a valid insurance policy and as per the T&C’s enclosed within the policy document. The IWA Scheme Member “Your Contractor” has NO authority to discuss the insurance provided by IWA or the authority to vary the Terms and Conditions enclosed within the policy document provided by IWA. The IWA member is not an Agent of IWA.)
